Your guide to online grocery shopping in Bahrain

Where to get your fresh fruit and vegetables and other pantry products in Bahrain

If you don’t have time to leave the house, or transportation to handle all your groceries, don’t worry – there’s plenty of top online grocery stores in Bahrain.

Whether you’ve started to cook and realised you’ve forgotten a key ingredient, or you need to stock up on fruit and veg in your weekly shop, you’ll find what you need here.

Read on for the online grocery stores you can use in Bahrain.

Alosra Supermarket

There are more than half a dozen Alosra Supermarkets dotted around Bahrain, so there’s a good chance you’ve nipped into one before. The chain also offers online grocery shopping, with free delivery on spends over BHD15 or a charge of BHD1.5 under that. You’ll get to choose a preferred delivery slot which will be between 10am and noon, 1pm and 3pm, 4pm and 6pm, and 6pm and 8pm, depending on what’s convenient for you.

GetBaqala

Shopping at GetBaqala means two things: you’re supporting a Bahrain-based start-up, and you’re getting same-day delivery to boot. Unlike other ecommerce stores, all GetBaqala’s stock is kept in a warehouse and there are no stores. You’ll need to download the app to order food, and while there’s no lower limit to what you order, if you spend less than BHD5 you’ll be charged a delivery fee of 500 fils. There are two-hour delivery slots to choose from.
GetBaqala is available on iOS and Android.

Live Well

Although most supermarkets in Bahrain now have extensive vegan and gluten-free options, if you can’t find something you need, there’s a good chance you’ll find it on Live Well. Although it’s not strictly a grocery store, it’s a great place to stock up on plant-based products like jackfruit burgers, vegan mayo or chocolate. Delivery is free on orders above BHD15, or BHD1 on orders below that, and you should get your products the next day.

LuLu Hypermarket

It was big news in Bahrain when LuLu Hypermarket announced it would be launching a home delivery service last year, and with more than 20,000 products on offer, we can understand why. You can pick up all your usual groceries, but the online store also sells home appliances like fridge freezers and gadgets like mobile phones or computers. It really does have everything. Delivery slots are between 11am and 2pm, 3pm and 5pm, 5pm and 7pm and 7pm to 9pm, and the cost depends on your location. Your order must be over BHD5 for delivery.

Talabat

You’ve probably ordered plenty of takeaways using Talabat, but you might not have realised you can also use the platform to shop for your groceries too. There are loads of shops available, and you can pick up your regular shop or grab pet food. You can even use Talabat to order from Carrefour.
