Everyone knows Bahrain is a great place to live, but now we have confirmation – the Kingdom has been voted the seventh best place in the world for expats.
The Expat Insider 2019 ranking, produced by InterNations after surveying more than 20,000 people, found that Bahrain ranks as the best Gulf State for family life.
As well as this, the Island of Pearls is fourth in the world for childcare options, with a third of expats saying they could not be any better, and 69 percent are happy with their current financial situation.
One massive positive factor that helped push Bahrain into the top ten was the ease of settling in – the Kingdom came second in the world, with the closest Gulf State being Oman in sixth place.
Eighty percent of expats are happy with the friendliness of the population, with one British expat saying: “The local people are amazingly kind and generous. There’s no discrimination or racism.”
On top of this, more than 70 percent of expats feel at home in the Kingdom, and another 44 percent think it’s easy to settle down here – more than double the average rating globally.
Although this is all great news, Bahrain was actually the number one expat country last year.
One of the reasons behind the slide was working life satisfaction – 61 percent of expats are happy with their working hours, a solid 20 percent less than in 2018.
We’re confident we’ll win back the top spot next year, are you?
