Project to help creative women launch start-ups opens in second location

Twenty Bahraini women will have a space to display their artwork and get training thanks to the project

A project that aims to help creative women turn their craft into a career has launched at a second location.

The art and career project will provide 20 Bahraini women with a space to display their artwork and get training in the hopes that it will help them develop their skills and potentially launch successful start-ups.

The women working at the new centre at the Al Frieh Dar Al Fonoon Gallery work in fields including perfumery, copper casting, fashion design, renewing and recycling, and interior design.

Tamkeen’s CEO Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, who supported the project, said, “We are delighted to support this fabulous initiative that will empower Bahrainis in arts creativity, and we have seen here lots of dazzling Bahraini artistic minds.

“Tamkeen has been supporting this creative industry in the past four years in order to help this industry to become a growing part in the Bahraini economy.

“We do believe that Bahrain has lots of young talents in this field and we will hopefully see the outcomes of that very soon.”

The first location was opened at Al Andalus park, and the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW) is hoping to launch a third centre in the near future.
