Holiday announced for Bahrain National Day

All ministries, government departments and public institutions will be closed on December 16 and December 17 for Bahrain’s National Day, it has been announced.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister issued a circular on Thursday.

There are plenty of things to do in Bahrain over the National Day holiday, including a four-day festival at Bahrain International Circuit.

During the festival, there will be two different races, including the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.

Singer Essa Al Marzouq will perform on stage on Sunday, and Abdullah Al Rowaished will rock the crowd on Monday.

There’s also a month-long programme of events being organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.

These include Manama Doesn’t Sleep, which will see the Bahrain National Museum open from 7pm until 7am on December 15.

Dar Al Muharraq will also play host to a traditional Bahraini musical performance on December 21.
