Bahrain National Day honoured with a Google doodle

Bahrain’s National Day has been honoured by Google with a doodle on the search engine’s homepage.

Visitors to the internet giant’s website will be greeted with a picture of a Bahrain flag waving in the wind.

The doodle has been created to honour Bahrain’s 48th National Day.

Explaining the doodle, the creators wrote, “Once the capital of the ancient Dilmun civilization, this small island nation has a rich heritage that stretches back to the third millennium BCE.

“Commonly referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Gulf’, Bahrain commemorates over 6,000 years of history with two days of events including fireworks, vibrant decorations, and cultural parades filled with song and dance. “Happy National Day, Bahrain!”
