Bahrain launches stamp to celebrate National Day

Philatelists of Bahrain (and it’s safe to say if you don’t know this word, you probably aren’t one), get excited – the Kingdom has launched a commemorative stamp for National Day.

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication’s Bahrain Post, in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), has created a stamp featuring a portrait of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

It also features Arabic text symbolising the spirit of Bahrainis, reading “pure hearts and thankful people”.

You can buy the stamp in a 500 fils denomination and a first day cover at 750 fils, with stamps available at all Bahrain Post branches.

If you’re looking for things to do to celebrate, don’t forget to check out our guide to Bahrain International Circuit’s four-day festival here.

Plus, kids can go to Al Dar Islands for free, while adults can go for a reduced price this week only.
