The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has unveiled its new identity and logo after Manama was named the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2020.
The new logo features intertwined triangles in the shape of the iconic Bahrain World Trade Centre, which was previously named as one of the world’s most influential skyscrapers.
The colour red represents the Bahraini flag, while the colour yellow symbolises sand, and the colour blue is meant to represent the WTC.
As part of the rebrand, the BTEA will be organising a number of events and festivals in a bid to attract more visitors.
Nader Al Moayyed, the BTEA’s CEO, said, “We are delighted to have launched the new identity and logo of Manama Capital of Arab Tourism for 2020 during this joyous occasion.
“The Arab markets have immense potential for further growth and development and in the upcoming period, BTEA will dedicate its efforts to put an integrated calendar under the umbrella of this title as we aim to attract tourists from neighboring countries thereby further developing the tourism sector and increasing its contribution to the national economy.”
He added that Bahrain hopes to attract 12.2 million visitors in 2020, an increase of 5 percent.
