Coastline next to Bahrain Fort could be turned into a public park

The coastline next to Bahrain Fort could be turned into a public park, according to a proposal from MPs.

Plans for the park would see a walkway and permanent jetty for fishermen added to the Karbabad coastline.

The news comes after a beach walkway was opened in Busaiteen last week.

That walkway contains 80 fitness devices and is part of a BHD2 million project in the area.

Once complete, it will also include a public square, green spaces, restaurants and a 400-vehicle car park.

The walkway is aimed at promoting internal tourism and providing a new outlet for Bahraini families.
