Bahrain’s Batelco gives users free browsing on educational websites

Batelco will be giving its broadband customers free browsing on certain educational websites.

The telecommunications company made the decision to support distance learning and home schooling, following the announcement that educational institutions will remain closed until March 29.

The selected sites are Google Classroom, Schoology, Class Dojo, Microsoft Teams for Education, University Of Bahrain website, Ministry of Education website and Polytechnic website.

You’ll be able to access these E-learning sites without touching your fixed home broadband package threshold.

Batelco said in a statement, “As part of its Social responsibility principal, Batelco has always been committed to support the youth and education sector.

“Batelco is honored to join Team Bahrain in supporting the community in its fight against the Coronavirus by addressing the needs of students and parents during this extraordinary time.”

Universities, kindergartens and schools have been closed as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The schools were closed on February 26, with teachers and admin staff returning to work last Sunday (March 8). Students have been learning from home with virtual schools since then.
