Bahrain to launch new online shopping platform

Bahrain is set to launch a brand new online shopping platform today.

Businesses across the Kingdom, including small and medium-sized enterprises, have been encouraged to register for

So far, more than 100 businesses have already signed up. Registration is free, and you can sign up by calling 1757 4972 or emailing

The news comes after it was announced that retail shops in Bahrain would be closing again from 7pm this evening (April 23).

Shops had reopened from April 9 to allow the public to stock up ahead of Ramadan. They will now remain closed until at least May 7.

Hypermarkets, supermarkets, butchers and bakeries will remain open, as will fuel stations, garages and banks. Pharmacies, opticians, clinics and hospitals will also be open.
