American University of Bahrain launches online English language testing

The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) has launched online English language tests.

You’ll be able to take the proficiency tests using Proctor-U, AUBH’s AI-enable proctoring platform which ensures students can’t cheat on high-stakes exams.

AUBH provost Dr. Mark D. Shermis said, “Amidst the widespread cancellation of international English proficiency tests; students, employers and institutions in Bahrain still urgently need these assessments.

“Being a recognized Linguaskill testing center, it was important for us to bridge our capabilities with the technology we already have in place: namely AI-enabled ProctorU. This globally recognised technology will ensure the continuation of English language assessment while also guaranteeing the integrity of results.”

AUBH is an official Cambridge Assessment Centre for English language testing, and the Linguaskill results are aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international standard for describing language ability.

Schools, universities and kindergartens have been closed across Bahrain since February 26, and will remain shut indefinitely. Learning has since moved online.
