Bahrain Food Bank receives freezer van donation

A freezer van has been donated to the Bahrain Food Bank to help the charity support the community.

The AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF), using money from the fund of HH Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa, made the donation.

It will be used to limit food waste and deliver surplus food to families in need and workers affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

HH Shaikha Zain bint Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of MKF said, “We would like to thank Bahrain Food Bank for its ongoing efforts towards fostering a culture that encourages food preservation, which ultimately contributes to achieving SDGs locally and internationally and establish food security.”

Ahmed Al-Kuwaiti, CEO of Bahrain Food Bank, added, “We are grateful for the Foundation’s contribution under her HH Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund, as this will majorly contribute towards enhancing our capabilities and capacity to preserve more food and deliver it to a wider segment of needy individuals in Bahrain.”
