Bahrain’s Al Jazayer beach closed until further notice

Al Jazayer beach in Zallaq has been closed until further notice, Edamah has announced.

Edamah, the real estate investment arm of Mumtalakat, has closed the beach after a number of visitors failed to follow precautionary measures during the Eid al-Fitr.

Bahrain residents must wear face masks when out in public and maintain a two-metre distance from members outside of their household at all times.

Visitors to the beach were given leaflets outlining these COVID-19 regulations, but failed to follow them.

Amin Alarrayed, the CEO of Edamah, said, “Edamah is committed to ensuring our continued cooperation with the Southern Governorate, and we look forward to re-opening the beach soon.”

Edamah now plans to put stricter precautionary measures in place in order to tighten security on the beach and deter people who do not comply with the precautionary measures aimed at combating COVID-19.
