Bahrain launches new scheme to help those affected by COVID-19

Bahrain has launched a new scheme to help those affected by coronavirus, the Ministry of Interior has announced.

The Royal Humanitarian Foundation “Your Food at Your Home” scheme will see meals distributed to needy people across the Kingdom.

It is the second phase of the campaign launched during Ramadan.

Over the course of the month, volunteers handed out more than 100,000 meals a day to expats and needy families.

The Feena Khair (There is good in us) national charity campaign was launched by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs, National Security Adviser and Chairman of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.

Donations to the Feena Khair campaign topped BHD35 million, with more than 40,000 individuals and 500 companies contributing.

Bahrain recently launched a new coronavirus registration service for those affected financially by pandemic.

It aims to connect those who are eligible, such as private school bus drivers and employees in the hospitality sector, with aid to alleviate their financial burdens during this situation.
