The King Fahad Causeway between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to reopen in phases

The causeway linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will reopen gradually, according to reports.

It has been closed since March to try and stop the spread of COVID-19, but is now expected to reopen partially in August.

It is thought only Bahraini and Saudi nationals will be able to make the journey for work or study at first, and after a month-long assessment it will open for general tourism betwen the two countries.

It was initially scheduled to reopen in July, before Eid al-Adha.
