You can now upload the results of your COVID-19 rapid antigen test to the BeAware Bahrain app, the Information and eGovernment Authority has announced.
To upload your results, you will need to enter your ID card number, then submit a photo of the test results.
Once received, you will get a text message with a report reference number before being contacted by Ministry of Health specialists.
Using the service is mandatory for anyone who tests positive, so that a nasal swab test (PCR) can be arranged.
The rapid antigen test is considered preliminary, rather than a replacement for PCR.
Rapid antigen tests are now available at several pharmacies in Bahrain. They are 93 percent accurate, and give results in just 15 minutes.
You can currently buy them for BHD4 at Yousif Mahmood Hussain Pharmacy, Oxygen Pharmacy, Dar Al-Fouad Pharmacy, Al Jishi Pharmacy, Jaffar Pharmacy and Balsam Pharmacy.
Last month, the BeAware app was updated to provide PCR test certificates.
The certificate can be used when travelling to countries who require a test before entering, including the UAE, Barbados and Greece.
You can find the BeAware Bahrain app at www.bahrain.bh/apps, and on the app store.
The app was launched back in March, and will alert you if you approach an active case, or a location that someone with coronavirus has visited.
Anyone who is quarantined at home must register with the app, and will be given a tamper-proof GPS tracking bracelet that health workers can monitor.
