As Swiss-Belhotel Seef turns one and celebrates the official launch of their brand new sky bar B28 Bar Lounge, we set out to search the surrounding area and find what other classy after-work beverage venues you can experience.
B28 Bar Lounge
From its location on the 28th floor of Swiss-Belhotel, this newly opened sky bar offers stunning city views through its floor-to-ceiling windows. Behind the bar you’ll find passionate and creative mixologists, as well as a unique, gourmet selection of bar bites. Plus, before 2016, the same space will also play host to a brand new international restaurant called B28 Grill.
Happy hour: Get 30 percent off on selected beverages, as well as free gourmet bites from 4pm to 8pm every day except Fridays.

Bizarre is an intimate lounge and bar, boasting luscious purple hues, in Le Meridien’s lobby aimed at the beautiful people where you dance, relax and enjoy the upbeat ambience with a selected beverage in hand. The drinks selection is particularly impressive.

Salsa night: Put on your dancing shoes every Friday and enjoy some salsa flair from 8pm to 2am. Every second Friday, an instructor is available.

This chic Moroccan-inspired bar and terrace at the Mercure Grand Seef provides a wide selection of premium mixed drinks alongside a variety of light snacks, sandwiches and shisha. Sip and Dip
Tuck into juicy burgers and light snacks at this African themed poolside bar and restaurant in Elite Seef Residence where a full a la carte menu is also available. They offer a wide selection of beverages which you can enjoy from the tropical cabanas overlooking the vast outdoor pool.

Situated between the Ritz Carlton Hotel’s lavish pool and private beach, Thai Lounge epitomises the adage ‘big things come in small packages.’ The food menu is concise, focused on sushi and traditional Thai curries, with big flavours contained within modest portions, while the drinks list features unusual signature concoctions that are definitely worth a try (no matter how strange they may initially sound). An oversized, glitteringly ornate bar fills the length of the indoor space, juxtaposing against striking modern architecture, and there is expansive outdoor seating.
Ladies’ night: Starting on October 6, 2015, a brand new ladies night takes place on Tuesdays from 7pm to 11pm, accompanied by the beats of DJ Erin. Gals get one complimentary beverages from an assorted choice.

Paying homage to an English gentlemen’s pub, The Burlington Club is popular as a pre- or post-dinner beverage spot where you can relax in the comfortable arm chairs and enjoy the ambience as live singers entertain.

Trader Vic’s & Mai Tai
These perennial favourites do not disappoint. Fusing Polynesian splendour with all things tropical, the décor, music and menu remain timeless at Trader Vic’s. The bar menu is clever in that it includes little bites ideal for sharing, mid-sized mini meals for one, and also choices for those who want a bigger portion. Tropical flavours abound and sit perfectly with the wide choice of tropical refreshments. Just outside, the Mai Tai cabana sits atop a manmade lake and you can look out across the lush Ritz-Carlton landscapes and admire flamingos as they frolic (no, really). It’s a great spot for a relaxed catch up with friends after work.
Wahine Tuesday: Back by popular demand when Mai Tai Lounge reopens this October, this successful ladies night offers the girls free entry, selected beverages and a selection of complimentary Trader Vic’s tid-bits from 6pm to 10pm.

This chilled out lounge, boasting great views from its 11th floor location, has a rather creative beverage list, light snacks and multiple screens showing the latest matches, alongside live music throughout the week. They also host Seef’s only karaoke night.
Bubbly night: Ladies get unlimited beverages from a select menu straight through from 8pm to 2am on Mondays.
Karaoke night: There’s a free round for the best voice and you can sing in Arabic, English, Tagalog or Indian languages from 8pm to 2am on Wednesdays and Fridays.
