Restaurants in Bahrain to become delivery-only under new measures

Restaurants in Bahrain are set to become delivery-only under new measures.

The Government Executive Committee has decided that all places serving food and beverages are limited to external orders and delivery. Shisha cafes will be takeout only.

Other measures announced by the government of Bahrain yesterday have seen all gyms, swimming pools, and other recreational activities closed.

Movie theatres will also be shut under the measures.

The government has limited public gathering to 20 people or less, and encouraged residents to commit to staying at home as much as possible and to only leave out of necessity.

Bahrain has been taking a number of steps to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in recent weeks.

The Kingdom will no longer be issuing visas on arrival, and anyone arriving in Bahrain must self-quarantine for 14 days.

Mass events such as weddings and funerals have been postponed, and gatherings are being limited to under 20 people.
