Seven top takeaway pizza places in Bahrain

Pizza has got to be the best takeaway food, and it’s easily the most versatile.

Bad day at work? Pizza. Celebrating a payrise? Pizza. Can’t be bothered to cook? Pizza. Want something that’ll still be good for breakfast in the morning? Pizza. Want something healthy? Okay, maybe you shouldn’t get pizza.

Here in Bahrain, there are plenty of top takeaway places for pizza – and we’ve rounded up seven of our favourites.

Just a warning: if you read on, you’ll definitely be ordering a big feast tonight.

400 Gradi

This Italian restaurant chain, which started out in Australia, is all about authenticity. All of the pizzas at 400 Gradi adhere to the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana guidelines – which basically means you’re not going to get a more traditional Naples-style pizza anywhere else in Bahrain. The pizzas have a thin base, and are cooked at 400 degrees in a wood-fired over for just 90 seconds. Yum.
On Talabat. Daily 9am-11pm. The Avenues, Sea Front, Manama (1711 0618).

Blaze Pizza

Although there are plenty of great signature specials at Blaze Pizza, including an amazing barbecue chicken, we’re all about building our own. With toppings including Italian-style meatballs, roasted zucchini and blue cheese, and all kinds of sauces like garlic pesto or white cream, you can’t go wrong. Plus, if you have an intolerance, you can also get gluten-free dough.
On Talabat. Sat-Wed 10am-11.45pm; Thu-Fri 10am-12.45am. The Avenues, Sea Front, Manama (1711 0516).

Cucina Italiana

A previous winner of our Best Italian Restaurant award, you’re bound to get a good meal if you order from Cucina Italiana. There’s a huge pizza selection, with options including the quattro formaggi, vegetariana and the norcina, but there are plenty of other dishes like risotto or ravioli. Plus, if you’re close enough to collect rather than deliver, you’ll get 25 percent off the bill. Bargain.
On Talabat. Daily 11am-midnight. Juffair (1700 1317).

Ask anyone for a recommendation for Italian food in Bahrain, and there’s a good chance they’ll mention Fatto. Personally we’re big fans of the diavola, with pepperoni, chillis and jalapeno, but there are loads of pizzas for you to choose from.
On Talabat. Daily noon-11pm. Al Aali Mall, Seef (6677 8822).

Oliveto is a new addition to this list, having only just started offering takeaway. All the better for us, as this spot offers up some of the most authentic – and delicious – Italian food in Bahrain. You can get all the classic Italian pizza options, plus some fantastic seafood dishes. To order, call the restaurant directly.
Sun 3pm-midnight; Mon-Tue 5pm-midnight; Wed, Sat noon-midnight; Thu-Fri noon-2pm. Adliya (1771 6747).

Papa John’s

To have outlets all over the world, Papa John must be doing something right. If you’re more interested in deals, and there are plenty of them, than proper Italian pizza (sorry, Papa John) you’ve come to the right spot.
On Various locations.

Urban Slice

Being home to Bahrain’s biggest pizzas is quite the claim to fame, and the only thing Urban Slice is better known for is how amazing the food tastes. As the name would suggest, you can order by the slice, or order a whole 16” or 20” one. We can never resist the all American cheeseburger pizza.
On Talabat. Daily noon-midnight. Juffair (1729 2971) or Riffa (1726 2671).
