Time Out Says
A visit to this Greek kouzina, located in Block 338 of Adliya, will make you feel like you’re on holiday. The interior is typically Hellenic, with wicker chairs, exposed wooden beams and exposed brickwork. Plus there’s a gorgeous outdoor terrace, offering up views over Manama, that will make you want to stay here for hours and hours. Now, on to that amazing food. For starters, we choose pita bread and two dips, tzatziki and melitzanosalata, plus feta cheese pies. You can’t really go wrong with melted cheese, but this dish gets is very, very right. The chilli and honey drizzled on top take this dish to the next level and we find ourselves fighting over the last delicious triangle, before mopping up the leftover honey with bread. We love our dip choices, and the bread portion is absolutely massive we have to force ourselves to stop eating so we stand a chance of enjoying our mains.
And enjoy them we do. Both dishes are artfully presented, and we can’t resist snapping photos for Instagram (if you went to a fantastic restaurant and didn’t take a picture, did you really go?). The chicken is seasoned perfectly and wolfed down, while the roast potatoes are some of the best we’ve ever had.The vegetarian moussaka, which is served in the dish it’s baked in, has a deliciously creamy sauce and the aubergine and potatoes are so delicious you won’t even miss the meat.
There’s no escaping from the fact that this spot is expensive, coming in at nearly BHD50 for two with soft drinks. But the dishes are so amazing, and the view, location and service so spectacular, that no one could ever claim it isn’t worth it.If you want incredible, authentic Greek food without the expensive flight, you must visit Attic. We’ll see you there.
