5 new restaurants in Bahrain

Florence, Zinj, Boutique Cafe and more new restaurants in Bahrain

When dreaming of your next trip to the Mediterranean, why not save money on the flight and hotel by simply checking into Block 338’s newest restaurant? Florence, despite its name, is a new fusion restaurant inspired by the flavours of the Med, buried in the heart of Adliya.

Located in a humble villa near Café Lilou, Florence is more reminiscent of a Mediterranean family home than a restaurant, with pastel motifs and floral patterns balanced by natural wooden and steel accents. Outside, a beautiful garden, with colourful flowers, hanging tree lights and a fountain, also offers comfortable seating during cooler weather.

“The beautiful thing about this house is that it makes you smile the moment you see it,” the owner tells us. “This house was built with passion, love and excitement.” As was the menu, which encompasses over 60 dishes from Italy, France, Greece, Spain, Lebanon and Morocco.

“We worked together alongside our executive chef for almost five months, putting together all our mixed backgrounds and cultures, our travel experiences, our passion for cooking and our will to learn and experience new flavours. We even involved our grandma to give us inspiration.”

You’ll find breakfast classics, followed by small bites, soups, salads and sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and risottos (deep breath), as well as chicken, seafood and beef dishes, and, finally, a decent selection of desserts. To wash it down, you can visit the fresh juice bar, which offers over 20 healthy varieties and mixes.

“We wanted to give something back to the people of Bahrain. They were always so welcoming to us that we wanted to create a place that welcomes everybody as well.”
