Christian Knerr joins luxury hotel after leaving Harrods in London

New executive chef at Ritz-Carlton Bahrain

The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain in Seef has long been a culinary hotspot for the island’s foodies.

It is home to restaurants such as Plums, Nirvana and Primavera, all of which regularly top out favourites lists.

Now, thanks to the arrival if an internationally-acclaimed German chef, it is set to have a further injection of culinary flair.

Chef Christian Knerr joins the hotel as executive chef and brings with him a wealth of experience earned in top kitchens from around the world. Most recently the executive chef of prestigious UK shopping brand, Harrods, Chef Christian has also worked in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Tunisia, Dubai, Bali, the Philippines and Turkey.

“After the wonderful experience I had in Harrods, I realized that my career passion sits in the hotel industry, and I am pleased to be joining one of the flagship properties of the Ritz-Carlton portfolio, and I am very keen on taking this success to the next level by working closely with the team and taking ownership in continuing to instill the culture of excellence at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain,” said the chef who is developing the hotel’s upcoming culinary offerings and Ramadan menu.

Chef Christian’s career in food started at the age of 16 and has gone on to include prestigious roles at Dubai Festival City and the Fairmont Raffles Hotel in Manila
