Milk concept score in Bahrain

New designer haven opens at Riyadat Mall in Bahrain

Milk concept score in Bahrain

Just in time for Christmas, new multi-brand designer fashion and lifestyle store Milk has opened its doors in Bahrain. Stocking a range of regionally designed products, Milk offers a brand-new platform to local, up-and-coming artisans, aiming to support a burgeoning fashion and lifestyle industry from the island.

“The term ‘Milk’ conceptually signifies purity, freshness and clean as a white, empty canvas,” the founders tell Time Out.

In a nutshell, the brand aims to provide a “free zone” to artists looking to be featured in the marketplace. “[It] simply means a boundary-free, open-minded and vast opportunity base for young talents thriving with potential.”

Everything from jackets to jumpsuits and stationery to sandals are stocked here. Brands like Bahrain’s own The Generous Light Co. and Barrel & Drum are showcased, as well as the wider region’s talents, such as Muneera Hamad and Alia bin Omair.

Both the physical and online stores are stylishly designed, offering a clean, edgy space that leaves the focus on the products. From wooden sunglasses to fashionable gym wear and eco-friendly woven bags, Milk is a treasure trove of quirky gifts – perfect for the season of giving.
And the brains behind it all is local entrepreneur Wafa Alobaidat and her team, who also run Obai & Hill PR and design agency and other product lines like Sukkar, a collection of funky accessories inspired by Khaleeji pop art.

“We believe in the untapped talent of the regional designers.

“Our vision is to inspire the global emerging designer network, and through our platform offer a door to inspire, enlighten and appreciate beautiful craftsmanship.”

That’s our stocking sorted, then.
