Dive Bahrain inspected by professionals ahead of opening

If you’re as excited as we are to try out Dive Bahrain, we have some good news for you.

Professional divers from a number of centres across the Kingdom have now completed a test dive at the world’s largest underwater theme park – meaning the grand opening is closer than ever.

According to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MOICT), the group inspected the theme park’s Boeing 747 that was submerged back in June.

They were charged with making sure safety requirements are met and submitting recommendations for final touches ahead of the grand opening to the public.

Divers also used the time to orientate themselves around the park to make sure trips by members of the public will be safe and as enjoyable as possible.

Before the plane was sunk in 20 metres of water, all of the wiring and fuel systems as well as plastic, rubber and chemical materials were removed to prevent any leaks that could harm marine life.

While the MOICT did not give an exact finish date, it said that professional divers and water sports enthusiasts will be able to attend the grand opening “soon”.

Divers looking to explore the 100,000 sq m them park will be able to book their trip through registered dive centres.

Trips to the theme park will depart from Ras Rayyah.
