Getting the kids to sleep on Christmas Eve is an absolute nightmare. All they want to do is stay up and catch Santa sneaking down the chimney to drop off their presents.
But if you’re looking for a way to send them straight to bed, why not try heading out for a Christmas Eve dinner?
With plenty of buffets on offer, the kids’ will be stuffed and fall straight asleep once you get home (provided you keep them away from the sugary desserts!).

Le Meridien City Centre Bahrain is putting on a festive buffet for Christmas Eve. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this is your best bet, as the restaurant is known for its amazing brunch desserts.

Bahrain Bay Kitchen
We always end up eating far too much food on Christmas Day, and Bahrain Bay Kitchen’s Christmas Eve buffet sounds like the perfect way to get ready for the onslaught of meats. You’ll be able to enjoy dishes like roast Turkey, New Zealand lamb leg confit and orange glazed Barbary duck, plus oysters and other seafood. There’ll also be sweet treats including the traditional Christmas pudding and fruit cake and a vanilla chocolate Yule log. Smooth Mood Project DUO will be performing live.

Brasserie Royale
You’ll be able to get everything from oysters and lobster to beef wellington and tagliolini at this Christmas Eve dinner. You’ll also get to indulge your sweet tooth with homemade pecan pie and gingerbread cookies too.

Fiamma Restaurant
Don’t want to spoil your Christmas Day dinner by eating all the traditional foods a day early? Head to Italian restaurant Fiamma where you’ll enjoy an international buffet. Don’t worry, there’s traditional dishes too.

Imari
While the Japanese traditionally get KFC on Christmas Day, Christmas Eve is all about the romance. You’ll get to enjoy a six-course dinner served in a Kaiseki styled set and see how another culture celebrates at Imari this year.

InterContinental Bahrain
Three of the dining venues at InterContinental Bahrain – Selections, Medzo and Legendz – will be jointly hosting a Christmas Eve brunch. Expect steak from Legendz, Italian cuisine from Medzo and everything in between from Selections.

La Mer
You can enjoy a Christmas Eve dinner with a side of sea views at La Mer. There’s a five-course set menu, so you won’t ruin your appetite for the big day.

La Mosaique
It’s traditional to eat seafood on Christmas Eve, and you’ll be able to do just that at La Mosaique’s festive feast. There’s a buffet and you can also order fish prepared to your liking at live cooking stations.

Silk’s restaurant
Avoid stuffing your face by heading to Silk’s restaurant this Christmas Eve as it will be offering up a four-course festive menu. You’ll get all the classic Christmas dishes and beverages like mixed drinks and mulled grape.

Teatro is offering up a five-course set menu at its Christmas Eve dinner. There’ll be live entertainment too.
