Fundraising biathlon event coming to Bahrain's Amwaj Islands this month

Hundreds of people are set to take part in a family-friendly biathlon this month to raise money for the Bahrain Cancer Society.

Everyone aged six and above is encouraged to sign up for the event, which has different difficulty levels to accommodate for the different age ranges, at ART Rotana on Amwaj Islands.

Those aged 16 and above can take part in the summer biathlon that features a 600 m swim and a 5 km run, while those between 12 and 15 will complete a 300 m swim and 3 km run.

Children between six and 11 can take part in a 150 m swim and 1 km run. For those who aren’t in the best shape but still want to take part, Adnan Sport Events Management, who are organising the event, have put on a 4 km walkathon.

You can take part in the fundraising event as an individual or as part of a team, with prices ranging between BHD4 and BHD10. Participants will receive a certificate, a medal, a T-shirt and refreshments.

The event, which starts at 4pm on September 20, is expected to draw in 700 competitors.

You can sign up for the event online by clicking here.
