Bahrain to host West Asia Paralympic Games in 2021

The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the West Asia Paralympic Games in 2021, it has been announced.

It is hoped the games will “make Asia one of the leading regions of the Paralympic movement” and “inspire and excite” the world.

The games were first held in the United Arab Emirates in 2017, and featured five sports – athletics, powerlifting, goalball, table tennis and wheelchair basketball.

It is not yet known how many will be including in the next edition.
The executive bureau of the West Asia Paralympics Federation approved Bahrain’s bid to host the championship at a meeting in Amman, Jordan, yesterday.
