Bahrain’s national sports competitions to kick off in July

Whether you’ve found yourself rewatching old games, or tuning in to the Bundesliga to get your football fix, we’ve all been missing live sport over the last few months.

And luckily for you, Bahrain’s national sports competitions are set to return in just under a month, with strict new regulations.

All competitions will be held in empty stadiums for the foreseeable future to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The Government Executive Committee made the announcement earlier this week.

The news comes after it was revealed that the postponed Bahrain Grand Prix, originally due to take place in March, could kick off later on this year.

Under current plans, there would be races over two weekends at the circuit in Sakhir, which may use different track configurations.
