There’s something special about an outdoor film screening – we’re not sure if it’s the warm weather, the down-to-earth vibes or the closeness to nature, but whatever it is, we love it.
Which is why we can’t wait for this Thursday’s showing of Egyptian film Al-Aydi Al-Naema (Soft Hands, 1963).
The Arabic classic tells the tale of a former aristocrat dispossessed by the 1952 Egyptian revolution and a young unemployed academic as they struggle to adjust to their newly socialist country.
Soft Hands, which stars Lebanese singer Sabah and Ahmed Mazhar, is an 18+ movie, so leave the kids at home and enjoy a special date night.
As a bonus, this free event, which kicks off at 7pm, is being held at the Bahrain Fort Museum – and as any local will know, this beautiful spot is best viewed at night.
Free. Thu Oct 3 7pm. Bahrain Fort Museum, Qal'at Al Bahrain Avenue www.culture.gov.bh/en/events/events/Name,17643,en.php (1756 7171).
