Five interesting things to do in Bahrain this weekend

Bahrain is hosting an eclectic mix of events this weekend, from a photowalk around Manama to a free yoga class in Hamala.
Read on for our top picks of things to do in Bahrain.

Cooking masterclass
At-home cooks will relish the chance to pick the brains of Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia, who is returning to Bahrain this weekend to host a masterclass. You’ll get lunch and refreshments as you hear all of his top tips and tricks.
BHD39. Fri Oct 4 10.30am. Rasoi by Vineet, The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention & Spa, Road 3801, Gudaibiya (1771 3000).

Free yoga class
After a long week, the best way to destress is a calming yoga class and a spot of meditation. Unfortunately, the high prices of many classes mean what’s good for the soul isn’t always good for the bank balance. Thankfully, Poke Kafe in Hamala is hosting a free class this Saturday – and you’ll even get a free tea or coffee afterwards. Namaste.
Poke Kafe, Wali Al Ahd Highway, Hamala www.instagram.com/p/B2oFtugnZxS/ (1728 1888).

Oktoberfest beach party
As the first Sunday of October approaches, it’s time to say goodbye to all the Oktoberfest parties. If you’re after one last hurrah, or oompah, head down to Coral Bay for the beach party this Friday from 1pm-11pm. Expect plenty hops and lederhosen.
BHD5 (ladies entry), BHD10 (men entry), BHD25 (ladies unlimited house beverages), BHD30 (men unlimited house beverages). Fri Oct 4 1pm-11pm. Coral Bay, Road 2407, Manama (1731 2700).

Photowalk
If you’re a budding photographer but need a bit of help getting started, head down to this photowalk in Manama this Friday. For three hours you’ll be tracking down the best spots in the capital to snap, and they’ll be plenty of people around to help you out with any questions you have.
Free. Oct 5 2pm-6pm. Bahrain National Museum, Shaikh Hamad Causeway, Manama www.facebook.com/events/2110256835762988/ (no number).

Salsa dancing
Dancing your socks off is a great way to stay fit, so if you’re looking to keep active, head down to the Elements Pool & Lounge this Friday for the salsa dancing workshop. Expect a really fun night, but don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes.
Every Friday 8pm-midnight. InterContinental Hotel, King Faisal Highway (1722 7777).
