There’s less than two weeks to go until Christmas, and Bahrain is set to celebrate its National Day on Monday – meaning it’s bound to be a busy weekend.
From festivals to comedy shows, there’s plenty going on in the Kingdom this Friday (December 13) and Saturday (December 14).

Head down to Bahrain International Circuit’s National Day festival
Bahrain International Circuit is hosting a four-day festival for Bahrain’s National Day on December 16, and it kicks off this weekend. There’ll be live performances from singer Balqees, plus you’ll get to watch several races including the Porsche Sprint Challenge. With entry costing just BHD1, you won’t want to miss this budget-friendly event.

Check out the Budaiya Botanical Garden farmers’ market
The farmers’ market at Budaiya Botanical Gardens is finally back for another year from this Saturday. Pick up fresh, local fruit and veg, plus plenty of plants, or just wander and enjoy all the sights and smells.

Watch an artist at work
Over the next month, four murals are being painted across Bahrain to brighten up the Kingdom. This Saturday, Faika AlHassan will be working on one at Bab al-Bahrain while Jaffar AlOraibi will paint one in A’Ali walkway. You can watch them at work between noon and 4pm.

Pick up some food at a food truck festival
Bahrain Bay is playing host to a food truck festival this week, and there are 25 different vendors for you to choose from. Yum.

Go to a comedy show
Comedian Maz Jobrani will be performing at the Gulf Convention Centre this Saturday, and you can expect three hours of belly laughing through the show which focuses on being a modern-day father and navigating his life as a Middle Easterner in America.
