If you’re looking for something unique to do this Bahrain National Day, you might want to head down to Bahrain Bay this afternoon.
For the first time ever, Beach Culture will organising be a paddle parade passing through the waters from the Arcapita Building down to The Wharf.
Led by a flag bearer, there will be dozens of men, women and children paddling along in their best red and white outfits.
The two hour event, which starts at 3pm today (December 16), is open to everyone, where you’re an experienced paddle boarder or prefer to stick to a pedalo.
To take part, all you need to do is register online here.
Renting a paddleboard of single kayak will set you back BHD12, or you can get a double kayak for BHD24. If you have your own human-powered paddle vessel, registration is BHD2.
If you’re a landlubber, you can safely watch on firmer ground for free. The route will pass from the Arcapita Building, The Avenues Mall, The Avenues Park and the Four Seasons Beach before ending at The Wharf in Bahrain Bay.
Participants should arrive at 2pm to prepare for setting off at 3pm, and you’re encouraged to bring along Bahraini flags (just try not to drop them).
