Five fabulous things to do in Bahrain this weekend December 20 and 21

There’s less than a week until Christmas, and by now most of you are probably hibernating to prepare for the never ending stream of events.

But if you’re looking for stuff to keep you entertained in between panic buying Bath & Body Works candles for every female relative, we’ve still got some events up our sleeve.

Read on for five fabulous things to do in Bahrain this Friday (December 20) and Saturday (December 21).

Decorate a gingerbread house
You can get your little ones properly in the festive spirit by taking them to a gingerbread house decorating class at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain this weekend. Every child will have a house to decorate, and the in-house pastry chef will be there to give them tips and tricks.
BHD20. Dec 21 10am-noon. Ritz Kids Club, The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Seef (1758 0000).

Listen to traditional Fjiri music
Earlier this year, Bahrain submitted Fjiri to the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list, and now you’ll be able to listen to the music that originated from pearl divers at Dar al Muharraq.
Free. Sat Dec 21 8pm onwards. Dar al Muharraq,17898,en.php (no number).

Watch a festive film
If you’re anything like us, you probably have subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and all the other streaming services (or, more accurately, you have access to your relative’s accounts). There are lots of options for you to watch, and we’ve rounded up a few of the best here. Alternatively, head out to one of these top cinemas in Bahrain.

Watch an artist at work

This month, four murals are being painted on walls across Bahrain. This Saturday, the final mural will be painted in Budaiya Garden by Ali Hussain Merza. Head down between noon at 4pm to watch Merza at work.
Free. Dec 14 and 21 noon-4pm. Bab al-Bahrain, A’Ali Walkway, Budaiya Garden (no number).

Try out some new dishes
This weekend, celebrated Jordanian chef Moeen Abuzaid will be cooking up a storm at Four Seasons Bahrain Bay. He’ll be adding an Arabic flair to dishes at Cut by Wolfgang Puck on Friday, and the evening will set you back BHD60.
BHD60. Fri Dec 20 7pm-11.30pm. CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Four Seasons Bahrain Bay (1711 5044).
