Free Arabic film screening at Bahrain Fort next week

Going to the movies can be expensive affair.

The cost of buying tickets for your family racks up quicker than you can say Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, and that’s before you’ve bought snacks.

But luckily for you, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is organising a movie night – and it’s completely free.

Head down to Bahrain Fort site museum on December 26 at 7pm and you’ll get to watch Among the Ruins, a film from 1959 by Ezzel Dine Zulfiqar.

The Egyptian movie follows a university student who falls in love with her professor, and stars Faten Hamama and Emad Hamdy.

If you fancy watching a free film, but Among the Ruins doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, there’s a Korean film festival going on all this month.

Over the past three weeks, Seef Mall Cineco Complex has played Korean smash hits including Train to Busan and Keys to the Heart for free.

There’s just one movie left – Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island – which will be shown on Christmas Day at 7pm.
Free. Thu Dec 26 7pm onwards. Bahrain Fort Site Museum, Al Qalah (1756 7171).
