Bahrain’s Irish Village to host Makeplay festival

Bahrain is filled with talent, with so many amazing musicians, artists and comedians.

And now you can celebrate the local creative community at the Irish Village’s Makeplay festival.

The 11-hour extravaganza on Friday January 31 will feature a whole host of entertainers from Bahrain.

These include Museland, who recently held an event featuring three days of free musical performances, and the Vaudeville pop-up theatre which put on a ten-act theatre show at Calexico last month.

Other acts include the True Funk Society, Artology and Randy’s Production Hub.

Writing about the event on Facebook, the organisers said that the festival “celebrates the spirit of play”, which helps you “innovate, create and discover”.

You can book your play on the free guest list on the Facebook event page here.

Next month, the Bahrain For All festival will be returning to a new location in Bahrain Bay.

The two-day event will see market stalls and performances from around the world in a bid to let Bahraini residents learn more about other cultures.
Free. Fri Jan 31 3pm-2am. Irish Village, Adliya (3220 8001).
