People across Bahrain are set to clap for healthcare workers in a show of solidarity this weekend.
Citizens and residents are being asked to show their appreciation for doctors, nurses, GPs and carers from their front doors, gardens, balconies and windows at 8pm on Thursday April 2.
People from across the globe have been taking part in the clap for our carers movement in the past week, including residents in the UK and Dubai.
Organisers Saoirse and Hannah Turner have brought the concept over to the Kingdom in a bid to show appreciation for healthcare workers’ ongoing hard work and fight against coronavirus (COVID-19).
Writing on the event’s Facebook page, they said, “During these difficult times our doctors, nurses and healthcare workers need to know that we are grateful.
“Bahrain is doing an incredible job of protecting us and keeping us, our loved ones, and Bahrain, safe.
“Please join us on Thursday 2nd April at 8pm for a big applause (from front doors, garden, balcony, windows, living rooms etc) to show all the medical staff, our nurses; doctors; cleaners; gps and carers, our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against this virus.”
It’s a great way to show your appreciation while staying safe, and staying home.
