Bahrain International Music Festival kicks off tomorrow

You can watch online, or from your car at Qal’at Al Bahrain

The Bahrain International Music Festival is back for its 29th edition, and you can check it out from tomorrow (October 22).

While coronavirus restrictions have meant the format has changed, you’ll still get to enjoy musical and lyrical styles from folks arts and oriental singing to Latin rhythms and jazz.

You’ll be able to watch live shows from your car in the parking lot of the Qal’at Al Bahrain site museum, or on the CultureBah YouTube channel here.

Abeer Nahme will be performing on October 22, and Pamela Farahat on October 23. Next up is Mario Reyes and the Gypsy Family on October 24, and the Mohammed Bin Faris Band on October 27.

The Suspenders will be taking to the stage on October 28, alongside Abdulla Haji on saxophone.

Barbaros will be performing on October 30, before Rehab Metawi, accompanied by the Bahrain Music Band, finishes the festival on October 31.

All performances will take place at 8pm, and if you are planning on visiting the site in person there are a number of restrictions you must follow.

Only four people are allowed per car, and you must wear a mask while inside the car when talking to one of the organisers.
