UAE-based airline Air Arabia is planning to add more direct flights from Bahrain to Sharjah.
The low-cost carrier has applied for a fourth daily flight between the two destinations, reports Akhbar Al Khaleej.
Airline CEO Adil Al Ali told the publication the flights between Bahrain and Sharjah are “almost always full”.
He added, “The travel and tourism sector is growing, not shrinking. It is growing worldwide at an average rate of seven per cent a year since the recession in 2008.”
The news comes after it was revealed that Bahrain will build a new airport within a decade.
Bahrain International Airport’s new terminal is set to open by March, but this is “temporary”.
There are also plans to launch flights to Mykonos, Milan and Munich in July 2020.
