Bahrain's Gulf Air signs agreement with SriLankan airlines

Gulf Air  has signed a codeshare agreement with SriLankan Airlines, making connecting flights easier.

SriLankan Airlines will place its UL code on Gulf Air flights from Bahrain to Colombo, Athens in Greece, Casablanca in Morocco, and Larnaca in Cyprus, while Bahrain’s national carrier will place its GF code on SriLankan Airlines’ flights from Colombo to Bahrain.

“We are happy to sign this codeshare agreement with SriLankan Airlines and increase number of direct flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sri Lanka,” Krešimir Kučko, Gulf Air’s CEO, said.

“We value our partnerships and SriLankan is our newest codeshare partner in our overall strategy to expand our operations. I feel confident that this codeshare will add value to customers of both airlines.”

The news comes after Gulf Air announced it would be launching direct flights to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in July 2020.

Milan, Mykonos, and Munich are also set to get direct flights from Bahrain in July 2020 thanks to Gulf Air.

You can also now get direct flights to the Maldives through Gulf Air thanks to an air travel agreement signed in October.
