Works on private airport terminal underway in Bahrain

Work is underway on a private airport terminal in Bahrain that will serve VIPs and business leaders.

The previous Civil Aviation Affairs building is being restored for the project, which began in October last year.

The private aviation terminal is set to be completed by February 2021, and is part of the airport modernisation programme.

It will cover 4,000 sq m once complete, and feature a range of services for private jet owners travelling through the Kingdom.

The news comes after it was revealed that the opening of Bahrain International Airport’s new terminal could be delayed until April 2021.

Opening of the terminal, which was due to take place in March, has been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Councillors have now proposed delaying the terminal opening until next year in order to introduce dedicated health facilities.
