Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2016
The emirate-wide season of entertainment brings a whole host of events and activities, from star-studded concerts to children’s stage shows, hotel deals, shopping discounts and plenty more. For instance, this month, on the 19th, Marlon Wayans is performing some laugh-out-loud stand-up, and on the 18th and 19th Cirque Adrenaline keeps the audience on the edge of their seat with death-defying acts.

Muhammad Ali: Tribute to a Legend
Qatar Museums pays tribute to the life of a sporting legend, inspirational Muslim and human rights campaigner. Muhammad Ali passed away at the age of 74 on July 7, 2016. This new exhibition is a collection of 22 artefacts that have been curated under the 3-2-1 Olympic and Sports Museum (which is soon to open in Qatar), spanning 18 years of his career. From his draft exemption letter after his conscientious objection to the armed forces during the Vietnam War – exhibited in Doha for the first time on the 50th anniversary of its writing – to posters, boxing gloves and photographs from his three world heavyweight title-winning fights, the objects represent who he was both in and out of the ring.

Beyond the Sea at Atlantis
Ocean-themed activities for all the family await at Atlantis The Palm this summer. The highlight is a scavenger hunt in the Lost Chambers Aquarium. The Atlantis Sea Lions will also be joining in the fun every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday in the aquarium, where curious animal lovers can shake a flipper or receive a fishy kiss.

Elton John live in Dubai
Sir Elton John will take to the Autism Rocks Arena on Thursday December 15. The pre-Christmas show is part of the Brit’s Wonderful Crazy Night tour and is his first live show in Dubai. With more than 4,000 concerts under his belt spread across five decades, the Rocket Man singer is one of the biggest artists of all time. And a trophy cabinet of 38 gold and 27 platinum albums proves it. This is something to get tickets for, now.

Fiesta De Los Muertos
This new festival is taking place on Friday October 28. The line-up so far includes Major Lazer (Lean On) and the recently reformed ’90s pop sensation All Saints. The Mariachis, the remix masters, are also on the bill with local stars Hollaphonic. Several more names are set to be announced at the time of writing.
